Ah, let's see....

Where'd I leave off? It's been over a month since my last confession. LOL

Spent several hours (like...7!) at the ER last night with my daughter. They thought at first that she had a kidney stone, but after a CAT, it turns out she's got a kidney infection. She was in some intense pain, the poor girl. Pain meds and antibiotics have her on the road to recovery though. Keep your fingers crossed.

Summer's half over. The heat and humidity are about to kill me and the yard looks like shit. LOL It was so dry and hot here, we were almost in a drought. Nothing was growing in the yard, just the buckhorn and now the blue-devil has joined it. The grass is still in a non-growing stage. Dang it. I guess whether we want to or not, we have to mow the buckhorn down. I hate that stuff anyway.

Another cute kid story: My sister and the kids were here for a visit in June and the first week of July. McKenna's a real chatter box and ever since I was there in March and April, her main goal was to finally 'meet' Misser Homer. That's what she calls my hubby-like guy. Misser Homer. It's so cute when she says it. Anyway, before they headed back to AZ, we all had a cookout at her Grandpa Larry's and of course, Misser Homer was in attendance. McKenna was thrilled. She'd seen him a few times before and she was totally enthralled with him. So, at the cookout, she says "Misser Homer....take me to Grandpa's garden." So, Homer takes her by her tiny hand and they begin to walk around the garden. That's a trip that McKenna's taken many times with her grandpa, so she knows each and every plant growing there. Misser Homer says "Look...those are tomatoes." and McK says "Yes, I like tomatoes. Do you? Why?" lol (everything ends with Why?) Misser Homer says "Look.....those are beans!" and she says "Yes, I don't like those, do you? Why?" They go along a bit further and Misser Homer says "Look, those are pickles!" to which McKenna replies, "No. Misser Homer, those not pickles! Those are cucumbers!" He had no idea she knew what a cucumber was, I guess.

Homer's brother Larry has been in the hospital for the past week and a half. He nearly lost his foot due to no circulation. The veins in his right leg were completely blocked in a few different places and his foot was turning blackish-blue. After a few very painful procedures to clear the blockages, he's on the road to recovery and is due home today, his foot and all toes intact. He's not supposed to smoke anymore, but he told Homer on the phone that he was dying for a cigarette. He just may do that.

I'm working on a new blog. Haven't got all the bugs out yet, but when I do, I'll let you know about it. I may have to call upon Jude to help me though. I need a skin. A nice one, but not too busy. We'll see how it goes.

Hope your summer is going well. I took some great photos on Friday the 13th and have them on a photobucket page. I just have to share the album, I think. I'll let you know how that goes too. Ciao!
